Today's Devotion
Rooted and Built Up
There is a beautiful picture in the Apostle Paul's words to the Colossians — the image of a tree, deeply rooted, drawing its nourishment from unseen sources underground. A tree does not debate with the soil every morning about whether to stay. It is rooted. Its stability is not performance; it is position.
For many of us — especially students navigating the pressures of school life — the temptation is to live by our feelings. Some mornings the faith feels alive. Other mornings, it feels distant. Paul's instruction is not "feel alive in him" but "live in him." The life is already there; our task is to remain.
Reflection
What does it mean practically to be "rooted" in Christ in your school, your home, or your workplace today? What is one thing you can do to go deeper in Him this week?
Prayer
Lord, I choose today to stay rooted in You. When the winds of pressure, doubt, and distraction blow, may my roots go deeper — not shallower. Let my life be built on You alone. Amen.
